The well-known fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm was the inspiration for this Christmas decoration. The front of the glass ball shows the encounter of Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf, on the back apperars the red-roofed house of the grandmother surrounded by dark fir trees. With the real iron cap on the top you can fix the ornament on the Christmas tree. The place of origin of the glass ornaments is the area around Lauscha in Thuringia. In the beginning it was just a substitute for real fruit which a poor glass-blower could not afford. With time, the diversity of glass ornaments for Christmas trees grew. Their popularity grew and they became a real bestseller.
